We would “Love” to tell a brief story about our experience with Crooked Creek Cairn Terriers. 2007 started out just awful as our sweet 10 ½ year old Cairn named Hannah was sick, and on March 12 we lost her. We both were so devastated that we vowed “NEVER” to put ourselves through that again. She was such a beautiful dog; so well behaved. But we were so lost without her! In June my husband said “I Can’t Stand It, our family is so lonely without her!” So he started to look and investigate breeders. He found Traci and called her to talk and then started to e-mail. She was so helpful (never pushy) and always ready to lend an ear. She became a friend and as I prefer to say- An Angel Sent to us!
Well, on my Birthday in June, I found out we could have the only girl in the litter from Rainey and Keagan. She also had 4 brothers that were all sold. I started to cry as I just knew it was meant to be. Traci was so good about sending many pictures. Her name is Gracie Mae and she was born 6-6-07 and we picked her up in August. We were so impressed totally with Traci’s whole operation and her family is just wonderful. We felt so at home and Traci spent so much time explaining everything, in fact we still keep in contact. Everything was so clean from kennels, dogs, puppies, yard, etc. Traci is excellent at what she does and the dogs show it. Our vet, Dr Bremer (wonderful man) at Port Cities Animal Hospital, Manitowoc, WI examined her the day after we brought Gracie home. He said to us, “Where did you get her? She is a really nice Cairn Terrier, very well BRED!” He also continues to praise Gracie every time he sees her. She also had puppy obedience classes in Green Bay, WI and the tech’s that taught the class both talked to us about where we got her as they said she is the BEST Cairn Terrier they have seen in a while. You have to understand that Wisconsin is noted for those awful puppy mills where they are so neglected and abused. Gracie is now 9 months and a beautiful cream and wheaten color. She looks just like her Mom. She learned housetraining very fast, few accidents. She knows a lot of commands and is still willing to learn more. Lots of energy, fun and love she gives to us everyday. We still miss our Hannah and talk about her all the time. Even still shed tears remembering. But Gracie is adding so much to our family. As a very dear friend of mine said “Why would you not want to have that love in your life anymore like you had with Hannah!” Thanks Traci for being so honest and good at what you do! You helped us in a very awful time in our lives. Todd and Karen Luce Two Rivers, Wisconsin

I have been working for the Newton Veterinary Clinic since 2005. It was not long before I had the pleasure of meeting Traci and her wonderfully humorous terriers. She has demonstrated many times that the health and care of her dogs is of utmost importance to Traci and as a breeder she excels in the honesty of her business and her integrity. We see every puppy in the clinic before they depart to the homes. I feel that she has painstakingly taken steps to ensure they are going to prove to be a responsible and loving home for her babies. I can honestly say that if you are looking for this breed of dog.. you would not be disappointed in choosing a Crooked Creek Terrier or in your dealings with Traci herself.

I cannot thank you enough for our wonderful girl “Libby”. As a client who has recently adopted one of your retiring dogs, I cannot thank you enough, nor can I praise you enough. Having an 8 month old Cairn terrier, we felt, that finding the right brother or sister was going to be tricky. Your guidance when we asked about an older dog helped us find our perfect little girl and our family has been completed by her. This was the perfect match. We love her just as much as if we had raised her from a puppy and cannot imagine life without her now. She and Chewie love each other too and it has been a really wonderful thing for our lives.
I want to commend you for doing such an amazing job raising her these past three years. Your care for your dogs shows and it has helped her transition into our household easily. She’s been a dream for potty-training and her socialization has been great. She’s friendly with our neighbors and their dogs and has adjusted to life in the house very easily. I wish you continued success as a breeder – you are outstanding and your love and knowledge of this breed is unsurpassed. It means a great deal to me that you care so much about these dogs, their health, their socialization, and are interested in finding the right homes for them. Thank you. Mia Stark Grayslake, IL |
